Jeffrey Krempec, M.D. comes to Orthopedic Health of Kansas City as a fellowship-trained hip and knee surgeon specializing in joint preservation, resurfacing, replacement, and revision. When joints have developed arthritis, it’s time to get treatment. Dr. Jeff Krempec specializes in hip resurfacing and total hip replacement, as well as partial and total knee replacement. Additionally, he has had fellowship training in total joint revisions, which is when joint replacements have worn out, failed, or have become infected.
Dr. Jeff Krempec obtained his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, MI and subsequently completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He then went on to subspecialty fellowship training, graduating from Washington University Orthopaedics at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He has written several book chapters on joint replacement and hip joint preservation. He accepts transfer of complex hip and knee cases from outlying hospitals without joint replacement expertise.

Dr. Krempec had done a hip replacement for me back in ‘22 and did a great job! I have recommended him to several people who have had the same experience I did. In 2013 I had a hip replacement done by a different Dr. who left me with one leg shorter than the other. This condition led to more problems thru the years. Dr. Krempec did a hip revision surgery and put the correct parts in. . I had my follow up appointment today and everything is going great! I have gained the length back in the affected leg. Nothing but excellence! Spent plenty of time with me. Brought in a mechanical knee and showed me all the muscles in the knee and explained to me what he would be doing. I have a arthritic tear in my L knee and it is bone on bone and operating on my R knee which I blew it out Thanksgiving eve stepping down my steps. Dr Krempec did double knee replacement on my husband. The first one was rough because his bad knee was no support. But the second one has brought it all together. Four weeks out of surgery he can almost walk normal again. Feels like he is getting his life back. We went to NKC hospital and they were great. Before having total joint knee replacement I asked a lot of health care professionals who they would go to, Dr. Krempec's name kept coming up. He is professional, yet friendly and honest. He does a great job explaining and answering questions. His staff and PA are knowledgeable and friendly as well. This is an absolutely fantastic surgeon with an absolutely fantastic staff. I had a full hip replacement a month ago. I was terrified of having surgery with a complicated medical history and was misdiagnosed by two other orthopedic surgeons before a friend recommended Dr Krempec. I am so grateful. A hip replacement surgery is not fun, but if you have to have one, this is the place to go. Bad news I fractured my hip good news I was in Kansas City and Dr Krempec was my surgeon I am a 69 yr old female who runs 5-6 miles a day but Dr Krempec did full hip replacement I’m only 3 weeks out but I have no pain and great mobility I was out of the hospital the day after surgery.
